Affordable housing is our business

COAP, Inc. knows the importance of home ownership in shaping our communities in Eastern Kentucky. We build affordable homes from 700 to 1200 square feet in new contemporary designs with our larger homes having two bathrooms and great kitchens. COAP, Inc. uses the latest energy efficient building techniques in our construction of the new homes to make our homes the most energy efficient homes being built in our area. The homes are easy to afford for our low income customers because of the energy efficienty.

COAP, Inc.'s largest program is low income homeowner rehabilitation. Our goal is to help our customers be able to live in their homes longer and more efficiently. We strive to make the most important repairs and energy effiecient repairs when possible. COAP, Inc. has a variety of funding options for repairs to existing homes.

COAP hosts volunteers through a week-long work camp program. The volunteers come to Harlan to offer their labor, financial resources, enthusiasm, and to live out their convictions. Volunteers lower the cost of our housing and help provide a match for other sources of funding. In addition, volunteers are able to witness the natural beauty of the mountains and warmth of the people who call Harlan their home.
